Qualification Summary
This qualification is also known as 'EDI Entry Level 3 Certificate in ESOL International (LCCI EfB)' is for candidates who wish to develop and test their ability to communicate in English within a business context. Entry 3 is for candidates who have achieved a fundamental understanding of English in a business context and who have the ability to use the language in a practical way at a very basic level.
- Course objective The aims of this syllabus are to enable candidates to develop the ability to:
- write apt and accurate English suited to the stated purpose
- understand and write English using formats that are current and common in business communication
- adopt the tone, form, layout, content and composition appropriate to the requirements of a given situation
- understand spoken and recorded Business English at the defined level
- participate in conversation
- Structure of the qualification This qualification has three parts. EDI Entry Level 3 Certificate in ESOL International (LCCI EfB) will be awarded to candidates who successfully complete the learning outcomes and assessments for the following parts:
- Progression The qualifications consist of practical examinations which assess candidates reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. They are available at five levels to suit the ability of candidates and are designed to test communication in business with tasks based on real business activities. Further progress can be made up to NQF level 2. Each level builds on the previous one and provides a consistent extension to the levels of skill and knowledge developed at the previous level.
The qualifications are recognised by a wide range of higher education institutions and employers across the world.
