How to apply for Visa?
Applications are assessed within 24 hours of receipt. Once prospective students are deemed to meet the entry requirements for their respective course and have sent the appropriate documents, ICOT will issue an official offer letter. This letter is a guarantee from ICOT that the student will have a place in the college on payment of the applicable tuition fees.
When tuition fees are paid in full ICOT will issue an enrolment letter indicating the necessary details for the Irish Embassy. Visa applications can take 6-8 weeks to process, so ICOT advise applicants to secure their place on their chosen course early to avoid disappointment. It is a requirement of the Irish Embassy that all tuition fees are paid in full before issuance of student visas. ICOT cannot guarantee that applicants are accepted by the Embassy for visas and it is the student's responsibility to provide the necessary documents. However, ICOT admissions will ensure to enrol students requiring visas to programmes that are approved on the Internationalisation register for visa requirements and will advise students on the application process.
Email info@icot.ie for visa enquiries.
To apply for the Student Visa applicants will
need to submit the following details to the local Irish Embassy:
1. Passport
2. Offer Letter from ICOT
3. Enrolment Letter from ICOT indicating fees paid in full
4. Recent Passport photographs
5. Evidence of sufficient funds to remain in Ireland (7000 Euro per year)
6. Visa application fee
7. Proof of medical insurance (ICOT can arrange)
8. Proof of English (TEOFL, IELTS or other) if required
Once granted the Student Visa entitles students to work part-time in Ireland (up to a maximum of 20
hours a week and full-time during vacation periods) to support themselves.
How to get registered with the immigration?
On arrival in Ireland, students are required to
register with the Immigration Authorities "Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB)".
You will have been given a date by which you have
to register by the immigration staff at the airport or other point of arrival. This is very important
and you may not be allowed to remain in Ireland if you fail to register on time.
When registering with GNIB you will need to take along:
1. A valid passport
2. An entry visa (where applicable)
3. Enrolment Letter from ICOT, valid for the current year
4. Evidence of financial support (e.g. current bank statement indicating your
name / a letter of guarantee from a parent or guardian indicating the availability of sufficient
funds to cover you during your period of stay in Ireland / letter from your sponsor, confirming financial status)
5. Proof of your residential address in Dublin, e.g. a utility bill showing your name and address or a letter from your
landlord confirming your address.
There is a Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform charge of 150 Euro each time you register. This can be paid by credit card. Otherwise the Immigration Officer will issue you with a bank giro form and request you to complete this and return again with confirmation that it has been paid.
